“7 years ago, 21st Sept 2013, life changed for us Kenyans, we experienced horrors on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Carnage beyond our imagination. As i lay in that carnage for numerous hours, I had two choices: look at the carnage, or, look at the Trees, I chose the Trees.
So began my journey to heal and help others heal, so maybe one day wars will be replaced with who can plant more Trees!
I had spent 3 weeks in hospital, came home in a wheelchair and was on crutches for 2 years. My ankle, including the rest of me, had also sustained serious injuries. Being a Skydiver, i know, if you want to really ‘live’, you have to leave a perfectly functioning aircraft at 13.500 feet. So January I pledged to take my mission for Peace and the Environment on the ultimate ‘walk’ for me. Everest Base Camp.
Fast forward 2021. Plan is to start my ‘Walk’ on World Peace Day, which is also the day I almost met our Creator, Sept.21st 2021. There are no coincidences, I believe, joining the Lavington Eco Rotary Club, has just added extraordinary Voices to my cause.
Where i thought i was on my own, i am now humbled everyday with support. I know as I train hard for my venture, my dream to walk for Peace and the Environment is coming to fruition.
